Honda restyling the Civic range

The ‘Civic’ compact car was first produced by leading Japanese manufacturer Honda in 1973. Since then over nine generations, Honda has sold almost 17 million units of the model sold all over the world. The car has also been enormously successful in the USA with over 7 million units sold. In October at the Paris Motor Show, Honda will be introducing a range of ‘Civic’ models with new enhancements. Before the official debut, photos and some info has been released by Honda. Every 2015 model year ‘Civic’ variant will now come with the advanced City- Brake Active system as a standard feature. The CTBA system has been developed in house by Honda. It will help the driver to mitigate or avoid low speed accidents on the road. However, the CTBA system will only come into effect with speed below 30 km/h.

There is a host of redesigned accessories in the new model- headlamps, integrated daytime lights, sleek looking new front and rear bumper, new side skirts, a black rear spoiler and the LED rear lamps. In the cabin, Honda has added seats with new fabric material and headrest stitching. The door handles are in chrome and the control panel has black metallic finish.

Apart from the styling changes, Honda has packed in a lot of features. These are- offers Connect in-car infotainment system with AM/FM/ Internet Radio, internet browsing, Bluetooth, satellite navigation and rear-view camera. The functions are used with the help of an Android based 7-inch display.
